Some websites are about heart, not commerce. Momoirs is one of them. Momoirs is a site for midlife adults with aging parents (mothers, in particular), and the challenges in caring for and dealing with them as they get older. The site is loaded with wisdom and valuable resources for people in this category from somebody who knows the subject deeply and personally. Content includes book reviews, web links, instructive stories, pearls of wisdom and plenty more.
From a design perspective, the client wanted something personal and friendly, clean and accessible. Definitely NOT institutional. And she had some artifacts, like the antique inkwell and a bunch of antique buttons that needed some digital magic to bring them to the web.
In a world where there are now more buttons dotting computer screens than holding garments together, Momoirs manages to do both at the same time.
